Extra Bedroom Turned Movie Room!!

We decided since we spend most of our time watching movies and we love collecting them too, to use our extra bedroom as a "movie room". So we started by painting the whole thing, even the ceiling, dark blue. (The camera flash makes the room look bright, really its not.) Then my hubby made a secure set up out of wood to put in the window so we could hang our 55" Samsung LED TV......

We covered the window with black sheets and curtains to give it a 'movie theater' look. We then found some awesome power recliner couches, which my hubby again built a cool platform to give the back row a little height to resemble theater seating. We hooked up all the surround sound and equipment in the closet, which we removed the door and hung up a black curtain so the controllers still work the equipment. We also replaced the plain light with track lighting and put it on a dimmer switch, again to give that theater feel. Lastly, we decorated with movie posters and flashy wall decor (the glittery collages are my fave, got them at Kirkland's). I can honestly say, its probably our favorite room of the house!!
